OVERVIEW

KITSAP COUNTY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Kitsap County supports internship programs that provide work experience for students that is related to their course of study in an accredited post-secondary institution. The internship program is designed so that the student will have the opportunity to apply principles and theories learned in the classroom, gain new skills, explore a career path and be supervised and mentored by professionals in their field.

The successful candidate will perform voter registration and elections work relating to the import and validation of online voter data and verification of voter identity and voter record maintenance. The incumbent will interpret and apply the requirements of state and federal statutes as they relate to elections and voter registration, assist and interact with the public, process ballots and perform all aspects of duties delegated by the County Canvassing Board.



QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Learning Objectives
Leadership: Assist with training and organizing extra help staff.
Collaboration: Work with each sub-department within Elections to understand workflow and necessary cooperation.
Technology: Use of social media platforms to create voter outreach initiatives
Self-Development: Work with the supervisor to set and track internship goals.
Communication: Contact voters with election related information
