Title:Summer Internship - Essex County Juvenile Court, Clerk’s OfficePay Grade:
- Starting Pay: Working towards/Bachelor's degree - $20/hour
- Working towards/Graduate Degree - $24/hour
Departmental Mission Statement: It is the mission of the Juvenile Court to protect children from abuse and neglect and promote opportunities for children to reside in safe, stable, permanent family environments whenever possible, to strengthen families when their children are in need of services, to rehabilitate juveniles, to protect the public from delinquent and criminal activity while holding offenders accountable and addressing the harm suffered by the community and the victim, and to decide all cases fairly and impartially with dedication, integrity and professionalism.

Notes:
- This position will remote 100% onsite, Monday - Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
Position Summary:The intern, under the supervision and guidance of the Clerk Magistrate, will work on a variety of assignments that will involve the administration and development of the Court's business and operations.
Duties: The intern’s daily duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist with data entry and filing.
- Assist with case docketing and computer entry.
- Assist in reviewing documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in answering calls and responding to requests or questions from the public.
- Assist with the office’s daily administrative tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
- Working towards a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college of university.
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and applications.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written forms.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
