Description
RequirementsMOS Code: None Education and Experience : High School Diploma, GED or higher and four (4) years of live performance production and operation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Licenses and Certificates : Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by time of appointment .
General PurposeUnder general supervision, assist with the production of events involving set-up, operation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment.
Typical DutiesAssist in the planning and production of events in various City departments including the Zoo amphitheater or MACC. Involves: Arrange props and equipment for events and live performances. Operate and monitor audio-visual equipment including but not limited to theater grade projection system, multi-channel digital audio mixer, wireless diversity receiver, digital video switcher, wireless microphone system, and dynamic lighting system. Set up and adjust audio visual equipment to enhance live performance events. Provide technical support for live performance events. Inspect and trouble-shoot audio visual equipment for defects and problems to ensure equipment is in good working order. Perform routine maintenance on audio visual equipment. Report more complicated equipment repairs to immediate supervisor. Set up, operate, adjust, monitor or troubleshoot audio visual equipment for events/occasions as needed. Serve as a liaison between the Museums, Mexican American Cultural Center, Library, Zoo Amphitheater and other City venues. Attend related meetings involving vendors and others. Assist in the purchase of materials, equipment and office supplies within approved budget and purchasing requirements. Identify vendors and best prices.
Design or oversee the development and production of annual report, presentations, displays and visual aids. Involves: Record numbers of individuals attending amphitheater events and live performances. Research, develop, and produce video presentations to be played on amphitheater or MACC monitors and screens. Research, photography, digitizing images, compiling images and data. Use of scanner, color copier, laser printer, and related software. Operate computers and utilize graphics software programs to develop images and layouts. Mark up, paste and assemble final layout for printing. Consult with MACC programmatic staff, graphic technician, animal care workers and other professionals regarding accuracy of graphics and text.
Supervise assigned staff. Involves: Schedule, assign, instruct, guide and check work. Appraise employee performance. Provide training and development. Enforce personnel rules and regulations and work behavior standards firmly and impartially. Counsel, motivate and maintain harmony. Interview applicants. Recommend hiring, termination, discipline, or other employee status changes.
