Job Location: The office for this position is located at 1730 Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO, 65101.
Why you’ll love this position:Missouri Vital Enterprise Resource System (MOVERS) is an implementation of Oracle’s Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Human Capital Management (HCM) software solutions. MOVERS is used by the State of Missouri to support the State’s enterprise budget, finance, accounting, and HR functions. As a Regression Testing Technologists will identify pre-release changes across a robust Software as a Service (SaaS) environment. Develop test plans which provide business operations and security assurance across the change surface. Conduct testing on business operation modules, integrations, and functions to assure operational integrity through update patches.
This is a temporary position based upon MOVERS funding. Position funding will end no later than July 2027. What you will do:
• Manage the components of regression testing including development of test case scenarios, scripts, methodology, and the overall schedule.
• Liaison between functional leadership and the technical team to ensure test cases accurately reflect business processes and requirements.
• Work closely with the application team to align the testing schedule and testers with the change schedule.
• Perform defect management activities on test case findings, root cause analysis, including triaging issues as defects or enhancements, tracking of defects, manage defects backlog, and maintain defect documentation.
• Support the release management process for scheduled and ad hoc system releases.
• Provide data driven assessments of change impact to leadership.
• Provide recommendations for improvement of testing processes, workflows, and tools to ensure testing methods and efficacy are in alignment with business priorities.
All you need for success:• Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology (or related technical field), or 3-5 years of experience in software testing, 1-2 years focused on regression testing enterprise information technology systems preferred.
• Software development process experience such as Kanban, Agile, or NIST System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) specific to enterprise solutions and deployments.
A successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate functional requirements into comprehensive test cases.
• Proven ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and in collaboration with large cross-functional teams.
• Robust written and verbal communication skills; translating technical subject matter to non-technical audiences. Work closely with leadership.
• Organized and efficient handling of test preparation, test procedures, test execution, and test outcomes; demonstrated competence with defect management.
• An understanding of fundamental information technology security operations principles: least privilege, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), fail open/fail closed, risk ownership/risk management.
• Insights into testing, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
• Experience in improving testing processes and implementing best practices.
• Understanding of formal information technology security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Understanding of SaaS and PaaS cloud technology and testing considerations required for solutions utilizing cloud technology.
