Daily tasks involve interfacing with community-based contracted agencies who provide services for mental illness and substance use disorders and other community stakeholders. • • Handle calls, e-mails and other contacts for individuals, families, and stakeholders seeking services or assistance from DBH
  
  • Collect information as contacts to community operations are made and provide technical assistance according to Department regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures
  
  • Input, organize, research, process, maintain files, track, and assist in resolution of events in the Event Management Tracking (EMT) System and external concerns and complaints
  
  • Track agency service sites and follow up on agency organizational changes
  
  • Assist in agency performance, environmental and least restrictive reviews utilizing standard reporting, and complete related reports
  
  • Complete and maintain tracking of sex offender notifications
  
  • Process, track, and complete required correspondence for Department contracted residential facilities
  
  • Maintain contact lists of community providers and programs, and other designated constituents
  
  • Office management duties to maintain office work space and equipment, and communicate with designated state facilities for office needs
  
  • Prepare and transport archived documents according to established protocols
  
  • Assist in coordinating special events and meetings, maintain attendee list, and prepare meeting space
  
  • Conduct and/or participate in meetings with community providers and stakeholders to promote evidence based practice, program fidelity, regulation and guideline compliance, and program development
  
  • Participate in staff meetings, networking events/calls and training to adhere to state requirements, professional development and growth
  
  • Exercise independent judgement and initiative within established parameters and in collaboration with supervision by the Chief of Adult Community Operations and Chief of Children’s Community Operations
  
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely within scope of work
  
  • Maintain professional working relationships with Department staff, community providers and other stakeholders
  
  • Complete routine, episodic and additional assignments with a high degree of accountability
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

You must meet State of Missouri Minimum Qualifications for a Program Specialist.

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; and two or more years of professional experience in treatment, case management, abuse/neglect investigation, or preventive services for persons with mental illness or developmental disabilities, substance use disorder, or inmate offenders; or related experience that primarily involved programs or services for these populations and afforded a knowledge of their special needs

• A combination of education from an accredited college or university and experience may substitute for the stated qualifications

• Possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license and means of transportation; ability to travel, including overnight stays
