A Sr. Environmental Specialist job is available with The City of Fort Worth (Water Department Customer Care / Pretreatment Services). This position is with the Grease Abatement Team and would be responsible for conducting inspections, collecting samples, and managing accounts of Food Service Establishments. Additionally, this position manages Grease Abatement roles for Customer Cities and conducts Plan Review tasks for new commercial builds.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or a related field
- Three (3) years of responsible experience in state or federally regulated environmental programs.
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Be registered or complete registration with National Registry of Environmental Professionals (NREP) as a Registered Environmental Manager (REM) or higher level of competency with two (2) years from employment date.
Preferred Qualifications: - At least one (1) year experience with FOG program
The Sr. Environmental Specialist job responsibilities include: - Conduct inspections of Food Service Establishments
- Collect wastewater samples
- Act as lead investigator for complaints and environmental investigations
- Conduct plan review tasks for commercial projects
- Act as lead for public outreach / education tasks
