Summary/Class CharacteristicsPart Time Tiny Tots Teacher IPositions assigned to the Tiny Tots program are responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing a developmentally appropriate preschool program.
- The current schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 2:00PM
- The program is located at the Petaluma Community Center.
NOTE: This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Hours may vary and will not exceed 29 hours per week or 1000 hours per fiscal year.

Duties- Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement a developmentally appropriate preschool program for the Tiny Tots program in the Recreation Services Department.
- Supervise organized activities and ensure activity safety.
- Create a pleasant, stimulating classroom environment for daily activities.
- Monitor equipment and supply use.
- Maintain documentation of classroom observation and safety logs.
- Attend staff trainings and weekly planning meetings.
- Provide necessary guidance for all volunteers, staff, parents, and grandparent volunteers.
- Incorporate health and safety standards for classroom and outdoor activities, including but not limited to the preparation, cleanup, proper care, and storage of all equipment and supplies.
- Report suspected child abuse as required by law.
- Orient and update parents and enrolled students regarding program policies.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Completion of six Early Childhood Education (ECE) units from an accredited or approved college or university.
Experience:
One year of responsible work experience working with children in a group child care program or preschool setting.
Certificates/Licenses :
Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license.
Must maintain and possess current and valid Basic CPR and First Aid Certificates prior to date of hire.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Positions require the employee to be exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level is moderate to loud.
