Position Description
With close direction, the PSS I performs standard clerical responsibilities that impact clinic patient flow, in accordance with established procedures. Responsibilities may include registration, scheduling, collections, and/or insurance authorizations.
Major/Essential Functions
- Greets patients professionally and courteously at the beginning and end of the visit.
- Requests insurance information and updates as necessary.
- Scans insurance and patient picture identification into the EMR.
- Correct patient's demographic information as necessary.
- Call patient to verify rescheduled appointments.
- Request any additional payments and schedule the next follow-up appointment and or testing.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
