Summary

To support accurate coding practices, the full-time remote Certified Coding Specialist will review, interpret, and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes for healthcare provider services while ensuring compliance with regulations and collaborating with clinical teams.Key responsibilitiesAssigns accurate codes for clinic visits and resolves coding conflicts while adhering to coding guidelines and documentation standardsMonitors and resolves rejected accounts, researching coding issues and ensuring compliance with CMS regulations and organizational policiesMaintains coding accuracy and productivity standards, participating in compliance initiatives to minimize coding-related denialsRequired qualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCertification as a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS/CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist/Physician-based) is required1-3+ years of professional coding experience, preferably in a physician-based settingStrong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding guidelines, as well as medical terminology and healthcare documentationProficiency with electronic health records, with Epic experience preferred
