Summary
The Buyer establishes and maintains relationships with auctions and various sources for the purpose of purchasing and wholesaling vehicles that meet Morrie's requirements
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
- Evaluate and negotiate current market prices.
- Understand, research and assess vehicle specs and damage, including subsequent costs involved with the damage, and make a financially sound purchasing decision.
- When applicable and necessary, attends auctions to buy cars that meet Morrie's requirements
- Maintains ongoing customer relations with auction personnel and fleet representatives
- Develop relationships with dealers outside of the Twin Cities metro in an effort to acquire inventory
- Partners with Morrie's GMs, Pre-owned Managers, and Group Pre-Owned Director to ensure proper inventory levels and assortment
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent - B.A. Degree in business or related field preferred
- 3 + years of dealership experience
- 1-3 years of automobile purchasing
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work as a team player and interact successfully with both internal and external business partners
- Work in a very detail oriented environment where follow through is essential
