Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Senior Data & Business Intelligence role supports University Advancement Services through data governance, business intelligence, reporting, analytics, prospect research, and advancement technology. The incumbent strengthens fundraising operations by improving data quality, developing actionable insights, supporting donor strategy, and advancing reporting tools that inform planning, engagement, stewardship, and campaign outcomes.

• Develops, implements, and maintains systems, processes, and data structures that support prospect management, moves management, and fundraising operations, ensuring effective tracking of prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, engagement, and stewardship activities.
• Serves as a subject matter expert during prospect strategy sessions, portfolio reviews, and fundraising planning meetings, providing data-driven recommendations to optimize prospect portfolios and fundraising outcomes.
• Provides data driven fundraising projections, pipeline analyses, forecasting models, and strategic recommendations to advancement leadership to support planning and decision-making.
• Develops and applies advanced data mining, segmentation, predictive analytics and modeling techniques to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities using Tableau, SQL, Power BI, and other related analytical platforms.
• Conducts comprehensive research and analysis of biographical, professional, financial, philanthropic, and organizational information to support data-driven donor strategy development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Advanced knowledge of advancement data systems, prospect management practices, fundraising operations, data governance, and business intelligence tools, with the ability to develop systems, processes, dashboards, reporting structures, and forecasting models that support prospect identification, pipeline analysis, donor engagement, stewardship, and strategic fundraising decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and improve data quality, apply analytics and emerging technologies, partner with campus technology stakeholders, and provide training, consultation, and data-driven recommendations that strengthen reporting practices, prospect strategy, operational efficiency, and reliable use of constituent and fundraising data.
• Advanced knowledge of business intelligence, data mining, segmentation, predictive analytics, reporting, and data visualization tools, including Tableau, SQL, Power BI, and related platforms, with the ability to develop executive dashboards, forecasting models, performance metrics, and actionable reports that support fundraising strategy, campaign planning, portfolio management, and institutional decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive prospect research and analysis using biographical, professional, financial, philanthropic, and organizational information to assess donor capacity, affinity, engagement, and solicitation readiness, while preparing prospect profiles, presenting strategic recommendations, and promoting ethical research practices, data integrity, and compliance with applicable policies and standards.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

• Classification: 0405 / Data Analytics Developer III / 1
• The anticipated HIRING RANGE is $7284 - $9237 per month, dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $7,284 - $10,611 per month.
• HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.
• This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
• The position is currently hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
