Job Summary

The County of Mono is seeking an experienced and collaborative Human Resources Director to lead a full-service Human Resources Department supporting County operations and employees. Reporting to the County Administrative Officer, the Director provides strategic leadership for all human resources functions, including recruitment and retention, classification and compensation, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, organizational development, policy development, performance management, risk management coordination, and compliance with federal and state employment laws. This executive leadership position serves as a trusted advisor to County leadership, department heads, and elected officials, fostering a workplace culture built on integrity, collaboration, accountability, and exceptional public service while advancing organizational priorities and workforce excellence.

The Human Resources Department serves as a strategic partner to County leadership and provides comprehensive human resources services to support Mono County's workforce. The department oversees talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, classification and compensation, benefits administration, performance management, policy development, training and organizational development, workers' compensation coordination, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
