Purpose:

Under general direction, this position performs routine supervisory work, overseeing daily small to medium and moderately complex information technology (IT) operation work groups.

Overview of the Position:

The IT Supervisor Senior provides supervisory leadership for the GATRRS ASTRO Radio System. The role oversees daily IT operations, improves efficiency, and ensures high quality service delivery. Responsibilities include setting operational goals, providing advanced technical support, supporting internal and external partners, developing training and procedures, and preparing system reports. (This position requires a Criminal Background Investigation Financial and/or CJIS).

The IT Supervisor Senior carries out full supervisory duties including hiring, training, evaluating, guiding staff to meet operational and service objectives, and ensuring compliance with City policies and security standards.

This position requires after hours and on call support, based on operational needs. This position is primarily on site with the ability to telecommute with prior approval from the manager.

Pay Range:

$91,080.00 - $122,850.00

Essential Employee:
This has been designated as an Essential Employee position. In the event of a City-designated emergency, Essential Employees provide services that impact the public health, safety, utility services, and welfare of members of the Austin community and other employees and ensure the continuity of essential operations. In such an emergency, Essential Employees may be called back in, may be required to modify their schedule, may be assigned to a City-designated work site, or may be retained on site to assist with operations and recovery.

Travel:

If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
