Job DescriptionProgram Specialist III Performs an array of complex (journey-level) technical, training, research, planning, policy, program assessment, and administrative activities for the Operations and Planning Office of the Property and Casualty Division. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing an agency program and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, or the general public. May train others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Assignments may vary day to day.
Essential Job DutiesThis position:- Serves as administrator for key applications and databases, including serving on related workgroups and producing special data sets.
- Develops comprehensive reports using advanced Excel functions to present datasets.
- Develops, maintains, modifies, and edits program procedures and documents to ensure consistency and accuracy across program processes.
- Performs complex program specialist work that involves establishing, documenting, and communicating program goals and objectives, program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
- Provides complex administrative and technical assistance.
- Responds to phone and email inquiries from the insurance industry and public.
- Assists with office functions, such as administering the TexasSure Vehicle Insurance Verification program, participating in the activities of the Filings Intake Team, and researching, responding to, and processing open record requests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsThis position requires: - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Three years of experience in a field related to the assignment.
- Regular work attendance Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Travel may be required for up to 5% of the time. If travel is over 10% or over, you must maintain a state of Texas Driver's License.
