This position is a member of our North Central & West Texas Division.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - Lead a team of investigators in the Air/Water/Waste programs of the San Angelo Office of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), to assure program objectives are accomplished by scheduling and distributing work assignments, tracking the progress of work assignments, conducting investigations as assigned, and providing reports to management.
- Plan, direct, and monitor Air/Water/Waste program activities to assure commitments are met in a timely manner with accurate and complete reports.
- Assign, distribute, and oversee the work of investigators; provide input relating to performance management.
- Perform environmental investigations as necessary.
- Advise and provide feedback to the Air/Water/Waste Section Manager regarding program activities and/or significant issues.
Provide and/or assure outreach and technical assistance is provided to the general public, the regulated community, media, and government officials.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS - Experience developing and generating work plans.
- Experience tracking and reporting work plan progress.
- Experience working with air, water, and/or waste programs.
- Experience conducting and/or leading environmental investigations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.
OR Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

Work Schedule Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ San Angelo Region Office.
