Job Summary Creates and maintains GIS layers for the City of Bryan’s Public Works Department. Essential Job Functions
Creates maps to assist maintenance crews on location of infrastructure.
Coordinates the collection and entry of GPS data and incorporates the data into the GIS .
Reads and interprets engineering drawings to add new infrastructure into the GIS .
Updates GIS maps to reflect maintenance and repairs to existing infrastructure.
Collaborates with other GIS users within the City of Bryan to maintain data integrity.
Provides technical support to other GIS users within the city.
Performs related duties as required.
Responds regularly and promptly to work.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma or GED plus at least five (5) years of work experience utilizing GIS and GPS ; or an Associate’s degree with significant coursework in Geographic Information Systems, Spatial Sciences, Geospatial Technology, or a related field of study plus at least one (1) year of work experience utilizing GIS and GPS ; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, certification, and training that provides the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the job.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree with significant coursework in Geography, Spatial Sciences, or a related field of study plus one1 year of experience utilizing GIS and GPS .
Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements Texas Class C driver’s license with a good driving record as measured by the City’s evaluation system.
