The Division of Compliance and Inquiries plays a vital role in supporting accountability and integrity across Texas schools. This team manages and responds to written complaints from a wide range of stakeholders, including parents, educators, students, vendors, and public officials, ensuring concerns are addressed thoroughly and with care.

As the Jurisdiction Review Unit (JRU) Manager, you will lead a dynamic program that manages the agency's complaints and correspondence function. This role offers the opportunity to shape processes, set priorities, and collaborate across teams to uphold high standards of service and accountability. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Complaints and Inquiries, the JRU Manager operates with a balance of autonomy and support, making independent decisions while contributing to the larger mission of educational excellence and quality.

Essential Functions

1. Team Management and Supervision: exhibits strong leadership in guiding a high-performing, mission-focused team; supports team development by helping identify initiatives, setting clear, data-driven goals, and establishing individual performance objectives; regularly tracks and assesses progress to promote growth and accountability
2. Complaint Management: oversees the agency's complaints process, ensuring timely and accurate intake, assignment, and tracking of all correspondence
3. Quality Assurance: drives quality across all program outputs by evaluating performance data and ensuring work products meet high standards of accuracy, clarity, and professionalism; reviews documents and communications to confirm alignment with policy and responsiveness to stakeholder needs
4. Process Improvement and Optimization: evaluates program effectiveness using performance data and stakeholder feedback; identifies risks and opportunities for improvement, and implements strategies to enhance the impact and efficiency of the program
5. Stakeholder Engagement: cultivates and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging their subject matter expertise and partnerships to support thorough and effective investigations

New hires, rehires, and internal hires will typically receive a starting salary between the posted minimum and the average pay of employees within the same classification. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and qualifications and consider internal pay equity across employees performing similar work.

The top half of the posted salary range is generally reserved for candidates whose qualifications exceed the role's requirements. The maximum of the range is typically reserved for candidates who significantly exceed the required and preferred qualifications.
