Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Central Fleet Division Pay Range: $5,910-$9,010 per month
Work Location: 5300 Municipal Ave
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

What you'll do
- Serve as the primary lead for managing fleet contract vendors, associated contracts, and outsourced services to ensure quality, compliance, and continuity of operations.
- Apply strong shop knowledge across both heavy and light equipment to support maintenance decisions, service standards, and vendor performance.
- Oversee fleet processes including procurement, asset management, fuel management, shop operations, billing, and environmental compliance to maintain reliable and cost-effective service delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functionally across fleet operations to ensure systems, vendors, and internal teams remain aligned and responsive to operational needs.
- Monitor vendor performance and service outcomes, addressing issues proactively to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

Qualifications

REQUIRES - High school graduation and 5 years of experience in one of the following areas of fleet that may include light or heavy duty automotive equipment repair and maintenance work, fleet management, overseeing fleet fueling activities, automotive storeroom control and/or fleet management, overseeing fleet fueling activities, automotive storeroom control and/or fleet asset management, billing and administrative function.
- Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
- Must possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A, B or C issued by the state of Missouri prior to the end of the employee's probationary period.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
PREFERENCES - Automotive repair shop and outsourced services management, hands-on repair experience.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
