Work Location: 414 E. 12th St.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

What you'll do
- Assist in the planning and conducting of office audits of tax returns, reports, and business records to support accurate tax compliance and identify discrepancies.
- Support the examination of accounting documents to verify the accuracy of computations and ensure transactions are properly supported and aligned with policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Work with audit leads on IRS data matches, applying guidance from senior staff to ensure proper analysis and follow-through of findings.
- Help prepare working papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries that document the extent of examinations and clearly support audit findings and recommendations.
- Respond to routine inquiries regarding accounting and auditing laws, rules, policies, and procedures while advising business organizations on audit results and compliance recommendations.
- Perform related duties as needed to support ongoing audit activities and departmental priorities.

Qualifications

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
