Bldg. & Grounds Custodian
Description
Overview The responsibilities of a Buildings & Grounds Custodian I is to clean and maintain all facilities (Public & Tenant). Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, trash removal, dusting, glass cleaning, sweeping floors, mopping floors, stripping floors and waxing. They work to promote a clean and safe environment for public and private use.
Responsibilities • Wipe down all surfaces to sterilize, fill soap dispenser, towel dispensers, toilet paper dispensers, clean mirrors, sinks, walls, toilets and urinals
• Sweep and mop floors
• Sweep all floors to remove dust, dirt and trash
• Remove all trash from trash cans public and tenant
• Gather, separate and store all recycled products from airport property
• Sweeping curbside in front of terminal to remove trash and cigarette butts to include trash cans and ashtrays cleaning
• Wipe down and sweeping all escalators, elevator and stairwell cleaning
• Arranging furniture for meetings, high dusting, washing terminal windows and special requests
• Cleaning carpets, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing all terminal and tenant areas
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work• Non Exempt - Full-Time
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Qualifications • High School Diploma / GED
• Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience
Required • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
