Please note: This recruitment is limited to employees working with the City of El Paso in the Museums department.

Education and Experience : A Bachelor's Degree or higher in art, business or public administration, marketing, public relations or related field and one (1) year of experience in a museum, or nonprofit arts or cultural organization.

General Purpose

Design and implement a comprehensive and robust multi-level museum membership program that engages the community, earns revenue and raises the profile of the museum.

Typical Duties

Plan, develop and implement a comprehensive museum membership program. Involves: Oversee all aspects of the membership program including growth in new members, increasing member retention, communications, and implementing targeted engagement strategies. Administer and cultivate a strategic renewal program to maintain current membership through digital and print materials, events and other innovative means. Assess all offerings and benefits to ensure members are active, engaged and enthusiastic about the museum. Oversee the planning, set-up and implementation of museum member events, including opening receptions for exhibitions.

Perform administrative duties. Involves: Schedule and implement an annual gift campaign and lapsed member campaigns. Work with museum staff to schedule and implement events to expand membership and other promotional events. Develop and maintain regular reporting systems. Analyze statistical reports for all membership activities and revenue. Track and present budgets. Oversee facilities rentals, and grow rental revenue. Ensure that member and program information is accurately communicated through the website, publications and signage. Communicate with members by timely responding to inquiries and requests. Evaluate membership programs activities and recommend changes. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervise assigned staff. Involves: Schedule, assign, instruct, guide, review and check work. Appraise employee performance. Provide training and development. Enforce personnel rules and regulations, department policies, and work standards. Counsel, motivate and maintain harmony. Interview applicants. Recommend hiring, termination, transfers, discipline, or other employee status changes.
