Job Overview :
The
Accountant 1 position serves as one of the Agency's accountants, directly supporting the Motor Vehicle Division , and is responsible for:
- Coordinating and overseeing a variety of financial accounting functions including: tracking and reconciling agency billings, entering accounts payables and receivables.
- Assisting with internal control testing & audit of the procurement card processing.
- Researching and resolving any fiscal discrepancies within the CARS system.
- Accounts reconciliation to ensure accurate and efficient application of generally accepted accounting principles.
The position serves as an Agency authority in technical accounting issues and is responsible for ensuring consistency, efficiency, and overall quality of accounting and fiscal records. The position also provides a variety of informational assistance to support ongoing Division and program operations and performs a variety of other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma.
- One year of accounting or other applicable experience.
- Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate degree in accounting, business, or related field.
- Statewide Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resource Systems (SABHRS) experience.
- MVD Credentialling and Registration System (CARS) or Gentax experience.
