The County of Fresno invites applications for the position of Information Technology Analyst IV. Incumbents provide technical support of IT systems and applications. Responsibilities include: designing, developing, and troubleshooting information technology enterprise applications; designing, modeling, and administering databases; implementing security protocols, identifying vulnerabilities, and neutralizing security threats; and performing related work as required.

Please Note : The current vacancy exists in the Department of Social Services (DSS). DSS is looking for individuals with advanced knowledge of Oracle Database, Microsoft Database, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Business Intelligence and supporting tools (Data Miner, R programming enterprise suite, Oracle ETL, TOAD), Big data, Tableau, Power BI, Python and JavaScript. Although the current vacancy is in DSS, the eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill positions in other departments as vacancies occur.

Minimum Qualifications

OPTION 1:

Experience : Three (3) years of full-time, paid work experience equivalent to that as an Information Technology Analyst with the County of Fresno.

Substitution : Two (2) years of full-time, paid work experience as an Information Technology Specialist with the County of Fresno may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.

OPTION 2:

Experience : Five (5) years of full-time, paid work experience designing, developing, and modifying computer applications, or developing and administering computer databases or enterprise-level application server systems; or developing and implementing IT security controls.

Substitution : Possession of a valid certification from CompTIA, Microsoft, or Project Management Institute in project management, database administration, applications development, cybersecurity, or a closely related field, obtained or renewed within the last five (5) years, may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

OPTION 3:


Education : Completion of sixty (60) semester units of coursework that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system with at least fifteen (15) units of coursework in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

Experience : Three (3) years of full-time, paid work experience designing, developing, and modifying computer applications, or developing and administering computer databases or enterprise-level application server systems; or developing and implementing IT security controls.

Substitution : Possession of a valid certification from CompTIA, Microsoft, or Project Management Institute in project management, database administration, applications development, cybersecurity, or a closely related field, obtained or renewed within the last five (5) years, may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

OPTION 4:

Education : Possession of a bachelor’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

Experience : One (1) year of full-time, paid work experience designing, developing, and modifying computer applications, or developing and administering computer databases or enterprise-level application server systems; or developing and implementing IT security controls.

In addition to the options listed above, the following may also be required:

License : Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.

Other : As a condition of employment, candidates may be required to undergo and pass a thorough background investigation and polygraph examination. These investigations may include employment/credit histories, verification of education, arrest/criminal records, drug/alcohol use, and personal conduct. This classification may require employees to work in Fresno County Detention Facilities. Fresno County Detention Facilities are "no hostage" facilities. This means that in the event you are taken hostage, the County will not bargain for your safe release.
