Anticipated Hiring Range

$5,877 - $7,023 per month ($70,524 - $84,276 annually)

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary

The Broadcast and Studio Engineer is responsible for coordinating the technical operation, maintenance, and development of production facilities within the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts (BECA) Department, the School of Cinema and the Journalism Department. This position supports the planning, operation, and upkeep of studio and control room systems, ensuring the integrity, safety, and reliable performance of video laboratories, digital production workflows (including streaming), and campuswide signal distribution pathways to support the delivery of the participating departments’ related curricular offerings.

Primary responsibility for the integrity of studio video laboratories and distribution of video signals between buildings and venues on campus. This position is essential to maintaining the integrity, safety, and reliability of studios, control rooms, and digital production infrastructure. Directly supports faculty and student productions and ensures that facilities remain aligned with current and emerging media industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires equivalent to three years of progressively responsible experience as an audiovisual engineer, including all phases of operation and maintenance of television facilities and broadcast studios. The necessary background to perform this work is normally attained through a college degree program in a related field or a combination of technical training and experience.
